SCIENCE: A Boon or Curse
SCIENCE : "A Boon or Curse"
In today's world we all are aware of the word 'Science'. From the discovery of wheel to going into space , there is a role of science. With the help of science man had conquered time and space and has tamed all the forces of Nature.
Everything in this Nature is happening with the help of science. This is the science due to which a drastic changes occur in our lifestyle that we are leading today and that we had some years ago.
As the coin had two faces , the science had too.
In some senses it is the blessing but in the other another it is proved to be Curse. It has bestowed is with development, progress, expansion and growth has also rendered us with hostilities, violence, ruin, devastation and bloodshed.
As someone definitely says ,
" Science.... never solves a problem without creating ten more ".
There is more and more development of science because of our necessity. As, "The necessity is the mother of invention". This is our necessity due to which we are in the age of electricity and hydrogen bombs.
Yet the problem is whether science is a boon or curse to our society. As Helen Keller has quoted,
"Science may have found a cure for most evils, but it has found no remedy for the worst of them all the apathy of human beings."
The best example of science as a boon is that we are connected to this world by the internet. As from the house we all knows what is happening in other countries.
The best example of science as the curse is the two World wars which had fought between different countries of the world in the 20th century. The two atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki stunned the whole world on 6 and 9 August of 1945 respectively.
Machine guns, shells, submarines, the atom bombs, hydrogen bombs and the nuclear weapons can destroy the world in the twinkling of eyes.
The extremely genius Albert Einstein once quoted
"To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science".
